Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG) Manufacturer in Maharashtra

The shirt you are wearing, the bottle on your desk and the coolant in your car probably share one ingredient, and most people never hear its name. If you buy for a polyester, PET, coolant or resin business, you hear it every day. As a Mono ethylene Glycol (MEG) manufacturer in Maharashtra, Shivam Industries supplies MEG to fibre and yarn mills, PET bottle-grade units, coolant and antifreeze blenders, resin makers and industrial users. We load from Maharashtra, send a COA with every lot and deliver across India.

Follow One Molecule Through Your Day

Instead of listing applications, here is where MEG turns up between morning and night.

7:00 am, your clothes. Polyester shirts, track pants, sarees and bedsheets are made from polyester fibre. MEG is one of its two main raw materials. Most of the MEG made in the world ends up here.

9:00 am, the bottle in your bag. PET bottles for water and soft drinks use the same chemistry, with MEG reacting with purified terephthalic acid. Bottle makers care a lot about purity, because trace impurities can show up as haze or off-taste.

11:00 am, the car in traffic. Engine coolant and antifreeze are mostly MEG and water. It lowers the freezing point and raises the boiling point, so your engine runs in both heat and cold.

2:00 pm, the factory floor. Heat-transfer fluids in chillers and cooling circuits, de-icing fluids at airports in cold countries, and gas-dehydration in some plants all use MEG.

5:00 pm, paints, films and resins. MEG is used in alkyd and polyester resins, in some films, and as a solvent and intermediate in specialty chemicals.

This is why a MEG manufacturer in Maharashtra gets enquiries from very different customers. A fibre spinner in one town and a coolant blender in another may be buying the same chemical, but their quality demands are not the same. You can read the technical profile on PubChem.

Three Grades, Three Different Buyers

If you are...You usually needWhat you will care about most
A polyester fibre or yarn millFibre-grade MEGPurity, low diethylene glycol (DEG), low aldehydes, colour and UV transmittance
A PET resin or bottle makerBottle-grade MEGVery tight purity and impurity limits, steady quality lot to lot
A coolant, antifreeze or industrial blenderIndustrial or antifreeze-grade MEGPurity, water content, acidity, price and volume

Not sure which one fits? Tell us what you make and we will say plainly which grade is right, including when a cheaper grade will do the job.

The Five Checks That Decide If a MEG Lot Is Good

When a MEG lot reaches your gate, most of the real information is on the COA. Here is what experienced buyers look at first:

  1. Purity (assay). The headline number, but never the only one.
  2. Diethylene glycol (DEG) content. It matters a lot in fibre and PET, because too much changes how the polymer behaves.
  3. Water content. Too much water can upset polymerisation and dilute coolant blends.
  4. Aldehydes and acidity. Small amounts can cause yellowing and quality problems downstream.
  5. Colour and UV transmittance. For fibre and bottle grades, this is often what separates a good lot from a rejected one.

Ask any supplier for a sample COA before you place an order, and compare it against your own limits. Ours reports these lot by lot.

What Moves MEG Supply and Price (Honestly)

MEG is not a fixed-price product, and a good supplier will tell you that up front. These are the usual drivers:

  • Feedstock costs. MEG starts from ethylene, so crude oil and natural gas trends feed into it.
  • Imports. India relies heavily on imported MEG, so shipping rates, port conditions and the rupee-dollar rate affect local prices.
  • Polyester demand. When textile and bottle demand is strong, MEG tightens.
  • Plant outages. A shutdown at a large producer abroad can change availability within weeks.

Who We Suit, and Who We Don’t

Being honest saves everyone time.

We are a good fit if you need regular MEG in drums or tanker loads, you want a COA you can actually read, and you are in or near Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka or Madhya Pradesh, where our freight advantage is strongest.

We may not be the best fit if you need a very small quantity of lab-grade reagent (a lab chemical dealer will serve you better), or if your specification is much tighter than we can meet. In that case we would rather tell you early than waste your time.

Storage and Safety: The “Sweet Taste” Problem

MEG is not flammable in the way solvents are, and it is often considered one of the easier industrial chemicals to move. But it has one serious hazard that people forget:

  • It is toxic if swallowed. MEG tastes sweet, and children and pets can be tempted to drink it. Label every container clearly, store it out of reach and never decant it into drink bottles.
  • It absorbs moisture from the air. Keep drums tightly closed, or the water content will creep up.
  • It is thick in the cold. Tanks and pipes may need gentle warming in winter to pump it smoothly.
  • Basic protection. Gloves and safety glasses are enough for most handling. Read the SDS before use.
  • Spills. Contain them, soak up with an inert absorbent and dispose of the waste as the SDS and local rules say. Do not wash large amounts into drains.

For environmental consent and effluent rules in the state, contact the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board. For quality standards that may apply to your end product, check the Bureau of Indian Standards, and confirm the current rules with your own compliance team, because quality-control requirements for this chemical have been revised in the past.

From Enquiry to Delivery, in Plain Language

Most of our MEG orders follow the same rhythm. You send us your grade, monthly volume, packing choice (drums or tanker) and delivery site through our Contact Page. Our team replies with the specification, price and lead time, usually within a working day. If you want to test first, we arrange a sample. Once you confirm, the load is prepared, sealed and sent with the COA, SDS and invoice. If you plan to buy regularly, ask about Monthly contract supply and we will build a schedule around your plant.

Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG) Manufacturer in Maharashtra: Questions Buyers Actually Ask

About the product

What is MEG?

MEG stands for mono ethylene glycol, also called monoethylene glycol or ethane-1,2-diol. It is a clear, colourless, slightly sweet liquid used mainly to make polyester fibre, PET resin and antifreeze.

What is the CAS number of MEG?

107-21-1.

What is the chemical formula of MEG?

C₂H₆O₂, often written HOCH₂CH₂OH.

What is the difference between MEG, DEG and TEG?

They are related glycols with one, two and three ethylene units. MEG is the simplest and most widely used. DEG and TEG are heavier and have different uses, and DEG is an unwanted impurity in fibre-grade and bottle-grade MEG.

About buying

Who is a reliable Mono ethylene Glycol (MEG) manufacturer in Maharashtra?

Look for a supplier that gives batch COAs showing purity, DEG and water content, consistent quality and dependable delivery. Shivam Industries offers this from Maharashtra and supplies buyers across India.

Which MEG grades do you supply?

Fibre, bottle and industrial or antifreeze-grade requirements can be discussed. Share your purity, DEG, water and colour limits when you enquire.

Can I buy MEG in drums, or only by the tanker?

Both. Drum quantities suit smaller users, and tanker loads suit larger plants.

Do you deliver outside Maharashtra?

Yes, across India, including Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi NCR, subject to route and regulatory requirements.

About safety

Is MEG hazardous?

It is toxic if swallowed, so it must never be stored in drink containers or left within reach of children and pets. It is not highly flammable, but you should still follow the SDS.

How should MEG be stored?

In tightly closed containers in a cool, dry, covered area. Keep moisture out, label clearly and store away from strong oxidisers.
